Harold Milner attended Altus Junior College from 1935-37, where he played on the men's basketball team. Harold met his wife, the former Imogene Saunders, at Altus Junior College, where she was a fellow student and Homecoming Queen candidate. His dedication to higher education, and especially º£½Ç³Ô¹Ï, has been made evident through his family. All four of his children and all his grandchildren of college age have been enrolled at Western. He graduated high school at Prairie Hill (near Duke), where in later life he served on the school board. Harold has been engaged in farming and ranching pursuits his entire life and was a custom combiner for many years. He sold insurance for Woodmen of the World, where he was often the top salesman. He sponsored many Woodmen of the World outdoor camps for young people, which have made his influence a fond memory to many in the community. He has been a deacon for 57 years in the Prairie Hill Baptist Church, and has served as Sunday school superintendent and song leader. He has been active in the Gideon's since 1970, and particularly enjoys the prison ministry. He says his greatest joy is bringing God's word to people. His lifelong example of hard work, hospitality, and the simple pleasures of life, could be summed up in this statement about himself: "When I work, I work. When I play, I play."
