This Associate in Science Degree program is designed to meet the needs of students to continue studies at a four-year university or professional听 college听 in听 the听 biological,听 physical,听 health-related听 sciences,听 and听 mathematics.听听听 Biological听 sciences听 fields听 include agriculture, botany, zoology, ecology, microbiology, forestry, physiology, and environmental science.听听 Physical science fields include geology, astronomy, meteorology, physical, and occupational therapy.听 Mathematics fields include accountant, actuary, engineer, teacher, economist, financial auditor and consumer loan/credit officer.听
Western听 Oklahoma听 State听 College听 offers听 high-quality听 courses听 designed听 to听 fulfill听 the听 lower听 level听 requirements听 for听 science听 and mathematics majors at most senior colleges.听听 Students completing the Associate in Science Degree may transfer to any senior-level state institution and expect to find their lower division general education requirements satisfied.听 Because departmental requirements vary somewhat at different senior colleges, the student is strongly urged to consult the catalog of the transfer college or university and a faculty advisor.
